Nice late 60s rock from
Naked Lunch – denizens of the Haight & Ashbury scene who combined psyche-touched groove rock with some hard driving Latin rock rhythms, with a little soul & funk brought in by a horn section and a nice overall sound! Funk, soul and rock intersected often in the scene, but
Naked Lunch bring some serious excellence to the game – and it's a crying shame that this material is on today seeing official release! Features
Naked Lunch tracks recorded in San Francisco in 1969, plus a couple live tracks from 1970, plus a couple tracks from 1972 credited to the affiliated combo Banda De Jesus. Some of it touches on the early sound of Chicago Transit Authority or Blood, Sweat & Tears, but
Naked Lunch hit's a harder groove, too. The LP version features 9 tracks – with a nice little glossy poster style notes, with a great photograph on one side and the richly detailed notes on the other, and the titles include "Love Is Everywhere", "Changes", "Endless Night", "Virgin Woman", "Ozone", "Better Days", "Living Is Funky" and more.
