new Xavier Cugat and His Orchestra — Viva Cugat! ... LP
Mercury, Early 60s. Used Gatefold .... $1.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
Nice later material by Cugie – recorded slightly before his 60s pop excursions, and with a sound that retains a lot of his original conception, but which touches it with some nice exotic hi-fi production. Titles include "Siboney", "Anna", "Jungle Drums", "Jungle Concerto", "Say Si Si", and "Poinciana".
(Blue label pressing, with deep groove.)

new Xavier CugatToo All My Friends ... LP
Intersound (Germany), Late 70s. Used .... $11.99 Out Of Stock
A rare European-only album from Xavier Cugat – his first-ever German session, recorded as a sound library date for the Intersound label! The style is a sweet mix of Cugat's roots with the German instrumental modes that have been copying his vibe over the years – with arrangements from Juan Erlando, and a nice late 70s style overall.
(Cover has partially unglued top and bottom seams.)

new Xavier Cugat & His Orchestra — Feeling Good! ... LP
Decca, Late 60s. Used .... $11.99 Out Of Stock
A tight album of jazzy Latin pop, recorded at the tail end of the 60s – with a nice feel that's different than some of Xavier's earlier work. We'd almost be tempted to say there's some Latin soul in the mix – as the tunes include a number of 60s covers, done in a bright and Latiny style – but the main groove is still solidly Cugie, with lots of nice and heavy percussion. Titles include "It's Not Unusual", "Game Of Love", "Fiddler On The Roof", "Downtown", "Mexican Pearls", and "Feelin Good".
(Cover has a spot of tape with a rip on the spine, some pen, and WGN Library letters on the back.)

Various — Dancing Beat Of The Latin Bands ... LP
RCA, Late 50s. Very Good .... $8.99
RCA compilation featuring work by Esquivel, Perez Prado, Tito Puente, Xavier Cugat, and Russ Garcia. We're not sure if this stuff is exclusive to this album, but it's a great compilation anyway. Tracks include "Tampico" and "Sand In MY Shoes" by Tito Puente, "Night Music Must Fall" and "Oye Negra" by Xavier Cugat, "Guaglione" and "You're Driving Me Crazy" by Perez Prado, "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" and "Adios" by Esquivel, "Carioca" and "Baia" by Russ Garcia, "I've Got The World On A String" and "I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me" by Luis Arcaraz
(Black label Living Stereo pressing with deep groove. Cover has small splits on the top and bottom seams, with light staining along the spine and on the back.)
