Bootsy and Roger went all the way to the bank with this one – a classic electro funk groover without which, most of west coast late 80s/early 90s hip hop would not exist! The cut's a monster – and still sounds wonderful whatever the context.

UK import 12" of what was released as a B-side in the US around the release of his Controversy LP, followed by by two of his hits from 2 previous albums, in the red tiger stripe cover.

One of Prince's biggest tunes ever – and a track that still sounds surprisingly great to our ears these days!

Forget the overly slap-bass funk of "Body Slam", and go for the sublime flipside on this one! Although the single was issued in 1982, Warner dug back to 1976 for "I'd Rather Be With You", an incredible slow-funk groover that's one of Bootsy's best cuts ever, and which was eventually given an excellent hip hop remake.

Their track from the Blue In The Face soundtrack, with the nice mellow production you'd expect, and some dancehall chatting in the chorus.

Quintessential 80s groove from Chaka Khan – a great version of Prince's "I Feel For You", remixed here with some really chunky beats and cool sampled vocal bits!

Some of our favorite Kraftwerk tracks, cold, bubbling Euro-electro numbers off the excellent Computer World LP, with icy synth melodies floating over popping electronic rhythm tracks.
