Karisma featuring Jocelyn Brown — Got You Dancing (voc, inst) ... 12-inch
Sound Of The Universe, 1976. Very Good+ (reissue).... $14.99
An early start for Jocelyn Brown, but even in the mid 70s, she was still a formidable voice in the clubs! This excellent track has kind of a rolling funk feel, with less of the disco sound that was later associated with Jocelyn's later work – and some nice touches like a jangly guitar, hard plucked bassline, and a nice conga breakdown. Both sides nice, and another essential club reissue!

Kindred The Family Soul — Rhythm Of Life (album, radio edit, inst, King Britt rmx, King Britt radio, King Britt inst) ... 12-inch
Hidden Beach, 2002. Very Good+ (pic cover).... $6.99
Philly has got to be the center of the Nu Classic Soul universe. This is the latest group to come from the city of Brotherly Love with a rich, soulful approach to contemporary sounds. King Britt steps it up a bit on the flip, for a nice club take on the midtempo album version.

new Superlife — Go Bananas (2 x 12 inch set) ... 12-inch
Peoples Potential, 1982. New Copy 2LP (pic cover, reissue).... $11.99 Out Of Stock
Very early techno from the Detroit scene – an amazing track that's expanded here by a number of different versions! The original is incredible – a Juan Atkins-inspired bit of dark dancefloor, with a spare sound and bassy depth that definitely goes way beyond anything Cybotron ever recorded – presented here in both the spooky vocal version, and the super-cool instrumental – which sounds like something that might have come from Sheffield, circa 1978 – or the moodier side of the German electronic universe. The second single features new versions that are all pretty great too – done by Max D, Legowelt, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Steve Summers!
