Ash Ra Tempel & TimothyLeary —
Seven Up ... CD Made In Germany (Germany), 1973. New Copy ...
Just Sold Out!
Some of the darkest music ever recorded by this legendary German group – but maybe that's no surprise, as TimothyLeary's along for the ride – living in exile overseas, after his escape from an American prison! Leary is credited with vocals and "direction" – and whatever direction he took the group in, the proceedings resulted in some of their most experimental music – very layered, textured sounds that are heavy on guitars and electronics from Manuel Gottsching, with voices that drift through the larger mix from Leary, Michael Duwe, and guests – all in a very dreamlike, spooky sort of way! The set is divided up into the long "Space" and "Time" suites – one on each side. CD
A wonderful early bit of psychedelia from an academic perspective – a record that features TimothyLeary, Ralph Metzner, and Richard Alpert – all reading from the book The Psychedelic Experience A Manual Based On The Tibetan Book Of The Dead! The album's divided up into two sections – "Going Out" and "Coming Back" – and there's a nice "scientific" feel to some of the work, especially striking given the early date! Vocals are recorded in a stark sort of way – almost dream-like at times – and there's a bit of Tibetan bells which further adds to this quality of the record. CD

Gilles Zeitschiff ... CD Kosmische Musik/Die Kosmischen Kuriere (Germany), 1974. New Copy ...
Out Of Stock
One of the most striking albums of the Krautrock generation – a project that has singer Gille Lettmann acting as Starmaiden – in a set of tracks that features contributions from a whole host of other contemporaries too! Klaus Schulze provides keyboards amidst all sorts of fuzzy guitar and offbeat production – and the tunes are shorter, and maybe more conventional in structure than other records of the scene at the time – but still given a very wild spin overall. TimothyLeary drops in at one point – maybe no surprise, given the trippiness of the record – and titles include "Right Hand Lover", "Lord Krishna", "Electronic Rock Zeitalter", "Meine Kosmische Musik", and "Power Drive".
