Stelvio CiprianiDue Cuori Una Cappella (plus bonus tracks) ... CD
Cinevox/Quartet (Spain), 1974. New Copy .... $22.99
A sublime mid 70s soundtrack from Stelvio Cipriani – quite upbeat and playful grooves, with timeless Italo soundtrack styles mixed with some 70s dancefloor sounds! Due Cuori Una Cappella is a romantic comedy, which you might deduce pretty quickly from the upbeat groove. The title them has the feel of a mini-suite, touching on the sounds you'll get throughout: string-buildup, playful piano, modern dancefloor-ready percussion, and a very catchy melody. This first ever CD release features the the original album in stereo and a massive number of bonus tracks. 35 tracks in all! Includes "Luna Park", "Picnic", "Parking", "Abhanera", "Bidon Ville", "Castel S. Angelo Nuit", "Aristide's S March", "Kidnapping", "La Confessione", "Scapricciata D'Amore", "Victor's Tango", "Abhanera", "Colpo De Fulmine" and many more.

Stelvio CiprianiIl Rollerboy (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... $16.99
A rare roller boogie soundtrack from Stelvio Cipriani – one that brings together his best funky keyboard styles of the 70s with a sweet new sort of disco groove! A number of the tracks here are instrumentals, and done in a style that's right up there with the best Italian club work of the time – and a few others are vocal tracks, with an even more soulful feel overall – lyrics sung by the likes of Dwayne Ford, Patsy Gallant, and Ranee Lee. The whole thing's easily one of Cipriani's most soulful records – and titles include "The Road To California", "Disco Men", "Tintikitikitin", "The Rollerboy", "It's Got To Be You", and "You've Got To Be Mean".

Stelvio CiprianiIl Venditore Di Palloncini ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1974. New Copy .... $18.99
One of the most sentimental scores we've ever heard from Stelvio Cipriani – but one that also hangs onto all of his great 70s mellow modes as well! Often, Cipriani's 70s sounds are turned towards love and sex – but here, they're cast towards a heartbreaking narrative that's underscored with some great melancholy moments – a great reworking of Cipriani's usual styles that shows us another side of his genius! Warm orchestrations mix with great piano lines and isolated woodwind solos on most numbers – produced to perfection with a sweet Italian style. A few cuts get a bit more carnivalesque, but still with an undercurrent of sadness – and the CD features 15 tracks from the film, with a nice overall package too.

Stelvio CiprianiLa Polizia Chiede Aiuto/Sta A Guardare/Ha Le Mani Legate ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1973/1974/1975. New Copy .... $19.99
A trio of cool cop soundtracks from Stelvio Cipriani – all brought together in a beautiful package with a really unified feel! Cipriani's easily one of our favorite Italian composers for the cop/crime genre – as he's got a way of bringing sensitive sounds into play with driving action – in ways that are different from Morricone, Piccioni, or any of his other contemporaries! These tunes have a great balance between careful strings, warm themes, and more pointed action – often hanging their sound on a key element, such as a keyboard line, or off-tuned piano – and moving carefully forward with a really great ear for space and timing. Things are never sleepy, even when spacious – and the tunes ring out with a heavenly quality that could almost sanctify the acts of crime for which they were initially scored. CD features 3 tracks from La Polizia Sta A Guardare, 3 from La Polizia Chiede Auto, 9 from La Polizia Ha Le Mani Legate, and 9 more bonus tracks from the films – including some previously unreleased numbers. A really wonderful package too – with great graphics, notes in English, and a really beautiful look overall!

new Stelvio CiprianiParadiso Blu ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... $16.99
There's kind of a Blue Lagoon story going on here – as if you couldn't guess from the cover – and who better to score such a film than the Italian maestro of love, Stelvio Cipriani! The soundtrack has a slinky, sexy quality that's way more urban than the setting of the movie – lots of sweet keyboards over basslines, usually moving slow, and sometimes augmented by bits of guitar or vocals – all with this great languid late afternoon afterglow sort of vibe! Edda Dell'Orso adds her lovely voice to a handful of numbers – and the CD features 19 tracks from the film, all nicely remastered!

Stelvio CiprianiPierino Il Fichissimo ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1981. New Copy .... $16.99
That's a pretty darn goofy cover for this early 80s Italian soundtrack – a record that's done with some pretty goofy music to match! The great Stelvio Cipriani serves up plenty of his trademark keyboards – but this time around, they're used in a way that's more playful than some of his previous sensual scores for 70s romantic films – never too offbeat, but with a mix of whimsical themes and a few more mellow moments that recall the older sound of Cipriani. CD features 14 tracks in all!

new Stelvio CiprianiSpeed Driver ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... $16.99
Lost greatness from Stelvio Cipriani – a racing soundtrack, but one that's scored in the same modes as some of his best crime and police work from the 70s! Cipriani's definitely in that best "exploitation" groove here – sometimes using a bit of disco or club, sometimes laying back with some sexier sounds at a slower pace – these sweet numbers that have always made his work one of the standouts of the Italian generation – and which is still holding strong here in this rare gem from 1980! The CD features 24 tracks in all – loads of lovely little numbers – including one with vocals by Nancy Lee Costa!

Stelvio CiprianiTentacoli (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1977. New Copy .... $19.99
Sublime Italian soundtrack funk – and one of the greatest albums ever from 70s maestro Stelvio Cipriani! The music was scored for a schlocky horror film about a giant octopus – but Cipriani's approach here goes far beyond its roots – beautifully blending together tightly compressed bass and funky drum bits with sweet electric keys and warm string touches – making for a set that slinks along with an infectious groove from start to finish! The sound is incredible – immediately seductive on the first track, and continuing to develop as the set moves on – making for an amazing soundtrack that we'd rank as one of our Italian favorites of the 70s. Titles include "Tentacles", "Small Town Pleasures", "She'll Never Come Back", "San Diego Yellow Cab", "Summer & Winter", and "Scotch For Two". CD features more tracks than the previous version – 7 more bonus tracks that are previously unreleased!

new Stelvio CiprianiSono Stato Un Agente CIA (Covert Action) ... CD
Beat/Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1978. New Copy .... $19.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
It's quite possible that nobody else does a 70s soundtrack better than Stelvio Cipriani – and with a set like this, you'll certainly hear why! While other Italian composers were schooled in the 60s, and came of age in the 70s – often adopting their modes with new instrumentation and arrangements – Cipriani's really one of the few who emerged fully-formed in the decade – with a sound and style that's perfectly suited to the blend of electric instrumentation used in 70s film scores, and some of the best traces of light eroticism that was such a big part of Italian cinema at the time! There's a really nice range of tunes here – not just variations on a main theme, but enough separate instrumentals to almost make the record feel like some lost sound library gem – funky one minute, mood-setting the next, and with great shifts in instrumentation that really keep things interesting throughout. Stelvio mixes up a sweet blend of cop show grooves and lighter sexy numbers – and the package features 18 tracks that include "The Old Spy", "Lester's Book", "Love & Peace", "Agent Tale", "CIA Agent", "Relax", "Investigation Rhythm", and "Sad Death".

new Stelvio CiprianiL'Uomo Piu Velenoso Del Cobra ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1971. New Copy .... $19.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
A very cool early 70s soundtrack by Stelvio Cipriani – and done with a killer jazz funk style! L'Uomo Piu Velenoso Del Cobra is a seedy Italian flick with globetrotting murder mystery plot – and the Cipriani's vibe here is clearly informed by Lalo Schifrin's work from the mid 60s to early 70s – and especially his theme for Mission: Impossible. Stelvio is riffing on maestro Schifrin's style here, but he's not ripping it off – as there's a charming loungey jazz funk groove here that's as unique is it is reverent! Lots of groovy organs, some killer horns, strongs and a swinging early 70s rhythm. Great stuff! 19 sequences on the title theme.

new Stelvio CiprianiLa Moglie Giovane ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1974. New Copy .... $16.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
A warm and sexy score from Stelvio Cipriani – penned with a beautiful blend of woodwinds, keyboards, and sweet bossa-styled grooves! There's a bit more fullness here than in some of Cipriani's more erotic work, and a bit more groove too – although most of the music moves at a wonderfully mellow pace, and just steps around with lots of great jazzy inflections – even though the music itself isn't really jazz! The blend of softness and fullness is wonderful – and the whole thing's easily one of the more captivating scores from Cipriani during these very vital years. CD features 23 tracks from the film – plus notes in English and Italian too!

new Stelvio CiprianiLe Mans Scorciatoia Per L'Inferno ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1970. New Copy .... $19.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
Nothing like a race film to bring out the best in a soundtrack composer – and that's definitely the case with this rare gem from Stelvio Cipriani! The music's got a feel that's somewhere between the light Italian styles of the late 60s, and some of the bolder French moments of the time – a touch of Legrand or Lai, perhaps – alongside these dreamy elements that are definitely Cipriani's own! There's more jazz than usual for Stelvio – and although some instrumentation is electric, it's more in a 60s style than some of the keyboards he'd use a few years later. Edda Dell'Orso does a great job on the theme – and one more number features vocals by Oympia. Very cool throughout – and with a total of 19 tracks in all!

new Stelvio CiprianiLibidine ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1979. New Copy .... $16.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
Libidinous grooves from the great Stelvio Cipriani – a set of tracks that hangs nicely between a late 70s club style and some of the slinkier sounds we've heard on Stelvio's other work! The album's got a vibe that definitely lives up to its image and title – and although the first few numbers are groovers with a definite disco flavor, the real charmers on the set are the mellower numbers – which slide along gently, with vocals from Nora Orlandi and Edda Dell'Orso – breathily singing amidst gentle grooves and some sweet keyboard lines! The style of these tracks is more early 70s Cipriani than anything else – that great dose of amore that always makes his music so great. Titles include "Sweet Sweet Love", "The Magic Touch", "Souvenir D'Un Soir" – and a number of "Libidine" tracks.

new Stelvio CiprianiUn Povero Ricco (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1983. New Copy .... $18.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
A beautiful soundtrack from the under-reissued 80s years of Stelvio Cipriani – and a set that's every bit as sparkling and keyboard-heavy as his best work of the 70s! The score's got a slightly sweet feel, but one that's handled wonderfully in Cipriani's slow-moving, sexy-styled sort of way – spare melodies on the keyboards stepping out with enough of a whimsical feel to match the movie's theme. Yet there's never any of the too-commercial modes you'd hear in an American film of this vintage – things are completely charming throughout, with all the best bits we'd expect from the maestro. Titles include "Exuberant Youth", "Girl In Blue", "Figurations", "For The Last Time", "Sprite", "Blue Tears", and "Sunday At Four". CD features 13 more bonus tracks – and great sound throughout!

new Stelvio CiprianiIncubo Sulla Citta Contaminata (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Cinevox/Digitmovies (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... $19.99 Out Of Stock
A striking soundtrack for this Italian horror film – not really a zombie flick exactly, but one with a very similar bent – scored by the great Stelvio Cipriani with loads of cool keyboards and rhythms! The horror mode's definitely of the John Carpenter generation – which means that Cipriani does a great job of balancing action and space throughout – using his instrumentation sparingly at just the right moments – then surging forward to really move things along! Titles include "Sustain", "I'll Find My Way To You", "L'Attesta", "Metropolis", "Agguato", "Incubo", and "Masquerade". CD also features 18 more bonus tracks – all previously unreleased!

new Stelvio CiprianiL'Assassino E Al Telefono ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1972. New Copy .... $18.99 Out Of Stock
A beautifully moody score from Stelvio Cipriani – a perfect illustration of his unique talent for creating sounds that are slow, yet funky – slinky, yet never cheesy – a rare and wonderful approach to tension and action in the 70s! Most numbers here have a slow-stepping electric bassline – moving very gently, to prompt other instrumentation on piano, guitar, or even fuller strings – all in gently melodic ways that work perfectly with the rhythms – and have a quality that's warmly dramatic, and never overdone – different than some of Cipriani's crime or sex scoring. CD features the full original album, beautifully remastered, plus tracks from singles too – a beautiful set throughout!

new Stelvio CiprianiPapaya Dei Caraibi ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1978. New Copy .... $21.99 Out Of Stock
Sexy sounds from the Italian scene of the 70s – music that's every bit as warmly erotic as you'd imagine from the cover! But as you might guess from Stelvio Cipriani, there's also a nice undercurrent of funk, too – kind of a gentle groove that's almost like some Euro sound library cuts at times – warmed up with some keyboard bits and tripping basslines that percolate nicely throughout the grooves – mixed up with some surprisingly great acoustic instrumentation, too! The score's one we never would have heard otherwise, but it's presented brilliantly here – with excellent sound, and full notes in English – in an all-over wonderful looking package! Titles include "Papaya Bossa", "Dancing Papaya", "Papaya Island", "Papaya Base", "Papaya Run", "Jazzy Papaya", and "Papaya Piano" – plus 4 bonus tracks not used in the movie.

Sugar/Digitmovies (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... $19.99 Out Of Stock
Lovely languid work from Stelvio Cipriani – a set that has a number of those slinky, sexy tracks we always love in his 70s soundtracks – often with keyboards slow-stepping over strings, in a way that's got plenty of Euro sex in the mix! A few more tunes get a bit upbeat – almost touches of disco at times, but never all the way – and a few more pitch things towards the spare and dramatic – with darker notes rumbling at the bottom, and even a bit of electric keys that get slightly funky too. Douglas Meakin sings on one track, but the rest are instrumental – and the set features 18 tracks in all, including two bonus alternate takes!

new Stelvio CiprianiEnfantasme ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1978. New Copy .... $16.99 Out Of Stock
A cool late 70s soundtrack from Stelvio Cipriani – for the Italian & French co-production Enfantasme – a film we know little about, but with a nicely dramatic score that dabbles a bit on spacier 70s Euro sounds! There's a bit of electric piano and Moogy sounds, along with more timeless textures. The revolving melody is infectious and memorable, and it has some really delicate passages, too. Just a solid blend dramatic film sounds and late 70s modern flourishes. 13 variations on the title theme, plus the closing "Nino".

new Stelvio CiprianiI Figli Di Zanna Bianca ... CD
GDM (Italy), 1974. New Copy .... $14.99 Out Of Stock
The first full length version of this overlooked 70s soundtrack from Italian maestro Stelvio Cipriani – a pretty cool mix of styles that shows off some of Cipriani's best modes of the time! The main theme has this slow-stepping, almost sexy sort of quality – quite a surprise, given the doggy nature of the film – but it's also mixed with other moments that either show off Stelvio's ear for a fast moving, jazzy line – or his growing flair for the kind of jaunty, playful line that would show up more in his soundtracks in later years. A few tunes feature inventive woodwinds, but most of the focus is on the keyboards – used in all the modes described above. 17 tracks in all – two from the original 45 rpm release, plus others from the film!

new Carlo Rustichelli/Stelvio Cipriani & David Whitake — Una Su 13 (Italian & American Theatrical versions) ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1969. New Copy 2CD .... $24.99 Out Of Stock
An excellent double-header – and a very cool collection that brings together two different scores for the film Una Su 13 – one used in the Italian release, the other for the American version! Carlo Rustichelli handled the Italian tracks – and he brings his great legacy of comedic scoring strongly into play – using some romping rhythms, playful horn passages, and a few modder moments to really keep things moving – with some especially nice use of vocals from I Cantori Moderni on a few of the standout groovers! The American release is even better – scored by Stelvio Cipriani and David Whitaker, who bring in way more music than before – and hit lots of cool 60s mod and fuzz modes! There's definitely a freakbeat element to many tracks here – a bouncing, jerking set of rhythms that are mighty nice – given lots of sweet organ and guitar lines to really underscore the 60s elements in the music – offset by a few lighter Italian touches that still sound mighty nice! There's a whopping 36 tracks on the American version – plus another 13 tracks from the Italian one – making the set a treasure trove of under-discovered musical gems!

new Stelvio CiprianiLa Notte Degli Squali ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1988. New Copy .... $14.99 Out Of Stock
A weird soundtrack to what sounds like an even wierder movie – Stelvio Cipriani's synthy score for the 1988 flick La Notte Degli Squali – which starred a young Treat Williams as a shark hunter who takes on the mob! Lots of post disco (even though it's pretty late for this) synthy grooves in the score, but used largely in action-oriented, dramatic contexts! 22 sequences of the title theme.

Gemelli/Cometa (Italy), 1981/1982. New Copy .... $22.99
Plenty of peepin going on on the cover to this sweet set of soundtrack tunes – and the CD features some music that's as equally goofy as the images on the front! Music for both Pierino films is by the great Stelvio Cipriani – working here in a mode that's a bit more whimsical than some of his famous crime or erotic music of the 70s – but carried off in a similar style of well-balanced keyboards and larger orchestrations. Rhythms aren't so much funky as they are playful – and the CD features 24 tracks in all, and a few more sexy photos in the booklet!

Mindblowing work from the Italian soundtrack scene of the 60s and 70s – a true treasure of tracks that more than lives up to the "psycho beat" promise of its title! The tunes are a heady brew of tripped-out styles – floating organ, slinking bass, stepping strings, fuzzy guitar, and bumping drums – all in a space that's just the right place between funky and easy – with a sublime kind of sound that's unlike anything else we can think of! new Orgasmo Sonore — Revisiting Obscure Film Music Vol 2 ... CD
Cineploit (Austria), 2012. New Copy .... $13.99 Out Of Stock
A sublime second set of work from Orgasmo Sonore – even hipper than their first, and again a wonderful reworking of soundtrack modes from the Italian scene of the 70s! Compositions here are by Ennio Morricone, Stelvio Cipriani, Piero Piccioni, and others – but the group makes the music very much their own – by transforming the tunes with tighter, funkier instrumentation – almost giving the songs a small combo sort of feel, while still retaining all the majestic charm of the originals! The approach is mindblowing – easily one of the best contemporary experiments of this nature we've ever heard – and the record is pleasing both to ears that love vintage soundtracks, and to those that dig funky instrumentals too. Titles include "Too Risky A Day For A Regatta", "Incubi Ricorrenti", "Metropolis", "Summertime Bossa", "Volto Di Donna", "Pillage", "Les Dunes D'Ostende", "Un Ombra Nell'Ombra", "La Sconda Caccia", and "Pearls".
