New Loleatta HollowayDreamin – The Loleatta Holloway Anthology 1976 to 1982 ... CD
Salsoul/Big Break (UK), Late 70s/Early 80s. New Copy 2 CDs ... $18.99
A great range of work from the legendary Loleatta Holloway – a singer who started out in southern soul, then brought a deep soul style to the disco dancefloor – where she was easily one of the most righteous vocalists of the time! The package does a great job of showing Loleatta at all her depth – and not only includes key club hits, but also some wicked mellower tracks that we almost love even more – plus projects with other artists like Salsoul Orchestra, Dan Hartman, Bunny Sigler, and Bobby Womack! The 2CD set features 23 tracks in all – including "I'm In Love", "Dreamin", "Worn Out Broken Heart", "Run Away", "Only You", "I May Not Be There When You Want Me (12" version)", "Vertigo/Relight My Fire", "That's What You Said (12" mix)", "Baby It's You", "Seconds (12" mix)", "Hit & Run (12" rmx)", "Short End Of The Stick", "Love Sensation (12" version", "I've Been Loving You Too Long", and "Two Became A Crowd". Salsoul OrchestraHeat It Up (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Salsoul/Big Break (UK), 1982. New Copy ... $14.99
A great new chapter for the Salsoul Orchestra – a set that has them working with underground legend Patrick Adams, who gives them an even cooler sound than before! There's more keyboards in the mix than on previous albums – some of those cool and moogy touches that Adams brought to his famous work for P&P and other indie labels – which gives the record an edge that goes way beyond the more familiar Salsoul Orchestra modes – and a quality that's leaner and meaner for the post-disco years! Rhythms are nice and funky – lots of snapping grooves that really give the record an edge – topped with bold vocals from Jocelyn Brown, Loleatta Holloway, and Carol Bramble. Titles include "Take Some Time Out (For Love)", "Comin At Cha", "Heat It Up", "Seconds", and the space themed "Columbia The Space Shuttle". Bonus tracks include "Seconds (12" Shep Pettibone club)", "Take Some Time Out For Love (12" dance mix)", "Ooh I Love It (Shep Pettibone 12" mix)", "Seconds (12" Shep Pettibone mix)", and "Take Some Time Out For Love (single)". New Loleatta HollowayHit & Run/We're Getting Stronger ... 12-inch
Gold Mind, 1977. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
If "Hit & Run" was always like this, it wouldn't be a crime! The track's a bouncing joyous number, and one of Loleatta's first bit club tunes – really grooving with a gently funky approach that has lots of great Salsoul Orchestra touches underneath! Great arrangements and production by Norman Harris, too! 12-inch, Vinyl record

New VariousDance Your Ass Off To Salsoul Remixes ... CD
Salsoul/Ultra, Late 70s/2013. New Copy Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The title borrows a slogan from the late 70s disco years at Salsoul Records – but the groove here is 21st Century all the way – thanks to a host of very contemporary-styled mixes that take older classics from the label, and infuse them with a modern dancefloor groove! Even back in the day, Salsoul had a great ear for key club talents who could expand on their strong blueprints for disco grooves – and here, they re-show that same strength, but in a completely different way! Titles include "I Got My Mind Made Up (DJ Dan rmx)" by Instant Funk, "Jingo (Federico Scavo rmx)" by Candido, "Doctor Love (White Noize rmx)" by First Choice, "Love Break (Stephane Luke rmx)" by Salsoul Orchestra, "I Never Knew" by Jessie Andrews, "Find Somebody (J Paul Ghetto rmx)" by Inner Life, "Hit & Run (Joe T Vannelli diva rmx)" by Loleatta Holloway, and "By The Way You Dance (Julien Jabre rmx)" by Bunny Sigler.
