Classic Cuban jazz material from the group of trumpeter
Rolando Aquilo – done in a style that's a bit tighter than some of the other Jam Session albums from the time, but still plenty darn great!
Rolando's trumpet is firmly in the lead on most tracks, but the overall presentation is still pretty stripped down – tight rhythms, bits of chorus vocals, and a mode that's less sweet and more hard-edged than some of the more mainstream Cuban music of the period. Titles include "Descarga Criolla", "Panama", "A Ti Na Ma", "Descarga Hibrida", "Pachanga", "Imagenes", and "Bodas De Oro".
