VariousElectroconvulsive Therapy Vol 1 (180 gram splatter vinyl) ... LP
Medical, Early 80s. New Copy ... $19.99
A killer collection of early 80s electronic numbers – most of them in a post-punk sort of style, but often with a bit of a dancefloor groove as well! Most of these cuts were issued only on rare 7" singles – and are brought together here by the wonderful talents of Medical Records – a label we've really come to trust for obscure 80s electronica! The work here lies in an underground far below the best early material of artists like Cabaret Voltaire or Human League – and the package brings together cuts from both sides of the Atlantic, all material we'd never have heard otherwise (and we actually used to buy this sort of stuff, back in the day!) Titles include "The Future Now" by Psychic Youth, "Let's Get Together" by Shazam, "Kwai Systeme" by Arto, "Le Chorale" by The Electronic Circus, "Betty Boop" by Arto, "Maske" by Berliner Strasse, and "Duty Calls" by Aaah. (Limited edition – pressed on totally cool vinyl!)

VariousElectroconvulsive Therapy Vol 2 - Fuzz Dance (180 gram colored vinyl)(2014 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Medical, Early 80s. New Copy ... $19.99
An excellent look at the the Italian Fuzz Dance label of the early 80s – an imprint that's probably best known for its cosmic club work by Alexander Robotnick, but which also featured some other great artists as well! This package is the first to ever dig into that deeper legacy – and brings to light some excellent Italian electronic cuts from the time – music that has some of the growing love of beats and keyboards in the Euro post-punk world, but which also still holds onto some warmer disco and club touches too! Titles include "Slow Flight" by Trophy – in both vocal and instrumental versions – plus "Plastic Love" by Zed, "Hesitation (reflex version)" by Mya & The Mirror, "Just A Lover (glamour version)" by Mon Bijou, and "Check Out Five (disco version)" by Naif Orchestra. New VariousBoddie Recording Company – Cleveland, Ohio (5LP set) ... LP
Boddie/Numero, 1960s/1970s. New Copy 5LP ... Out Of Stock
One of the coolest sets the Numero Group has ever released – and that's saying a heck of a lot, given their already-mighty catalog! Although the label issued a previous dip into the enigmatic Boddie Recording company of Cleveland, this massive package brings together a whopping 57 tracks from the Boddie studios and related labels – many of which have never been reissued before, even by Numero – and all of which offer up a mindblowing microcosm of the American scene in the 60s and 70s – a wealth of rare funk, soul, psych, gospel, and more – all of it the kind of gritty material that 45 collectors die for! But just as cool as the music is the package itself – a heavy box with a flap that fits around five LPs, two booklets, flyer reproductions, and even a Boddie greeting card! There's loads of rare photos, band information, studio details, and more – billed by Numero as a "self-contained record industry" in one box. Musically, the whole thing's right on par with other Numero releases – maybe even above them, given the wide range and depth of the collection – and artists include Bo & The Metros, Inter Circle, King James Version, Ricky Hodges, Jackie Russell, Angela Alexander, Frankie Pighee, Chantells, AC Jones, Harvey Hall, Headlines, Modern Detergents, Penny North, JC Akins, Little Anthony Mitchell, Gospel Fabulators, Royal Kings, Corinthian Singers, Brother Bill, Victory 5, and many more.
