new Jay-Z — Black Album – Acapella ... LP
Roc-A-Fella, 2004. Used 2LP Gatefold .... $11.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
"This here is the victory lap," raps Hov midway through The Black Album, as you'll hear loud and clear on these acapellas! We may still have to lean towards Blueprint as his late masterpiece, but this is way up there. "December 4th", "What More Can I Say?", "Encore", "Change Clothes", "Dirt Off Your Shoulder", "Threat", "Moment Of Clarity", "99 Problems", "Justify My Thug", "Lucifer", "Allure", "My First Song", and a couple of interludes.

Hasil Adkins — White Light, White Meat – Authentic West Virginia One Man Band Home Recordings 1958 to 1965 ... LP
Norton, Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy .... $12.99
One man rockabilly firebrand and Chicken Walkin' madman Hasil Adkins – done justice once more by his longtime champions at Norton Records! The title is as cheeky nod to the Velvets, but Hasil ain't no NYC art scenester, nope – he might be the true king of rock and roll, stumping out raggedly brilliant rockabilly wierdness all by his lonesome (for the most part...a fella named Sanford Stovers sings some on "Turn My Coat Tails Loose") at his home in West Virginia from the late 50s to mid 60s. Includes "Roll Roll Train", "Woke Up This Morning", "Donnio Boogie", "Donnio Shuffle", "Lonely Graveyard", "Somebody Help Me" and more.

Five Americans — I See The Light (mono) (180 gram pressing) ... LP
Abnak/Sundazed, 1966. New Copy Gatefold (reissue).... $18.99 19.98
The first full length for The Five Americans – a great set of mid 60s heartland rock by a group that could deliver raucous garagey nuggets, sweeter harmonies, and jangly pop tunes – with equal excellence! The group vocals are fantastic, and it's especially impressive that they could handle organ and heavy drums drenched rockers and groovy pop vocals at the same time. These five fellas should be much better remembered! Includes the killer title track "The Losing Game", "Goodbye", "The Train", "it's A Crying Shame", "I Know They Lie", "Twist And Shout", "I'm So Glad", "The Outcast" and more. Reissued for the first time in mono here by Sundazed – and it sounds great!
(180 gram vinyl.)

new Hawkwind — Hawkwind ... LP
United Artists, 1970. Used .... $19.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
The debut of the mighty Hawkwind – spacey, yet blues informed rock from the very and of the 60s/start of the 70s – the dawn of space rock as we know it! These fellas looked into their minds eyes and what what they saw was eerie echoes, lumbering rhythms and trippy atmospherics grounded just in enough in bluesy rock and more stable soundscapes. Pure excellence, and a record worthy of its legend. Titles include "Hurry On Sundown", "The Reason Is?", "Be Yourself", "Paranoia (Pts 1 & 2)", "See As You Really Are" and "Mirror Of Ilusion".
(Original US pressing.)

new Esther & Abi Ofarim — Free Just Like The Wind ... LP
Philips, Late 60s. Used .... $3.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
This groovy pair didn't last long on the pop charts, but they did score relatively big with the swnging "Cinderella Rockefella" – a mad late 60s pop tune that's included here on this US album. The cut's a great one – pretty silly, but always enjoyable, and the kind of stunner that makes you wonder why everyone these days is so serious about pop music. Other tracks include "Hora", "Your Heart is Free Just Like The Wind", "True Love Can Never Die", and "Wanderlove".
(Cover has a cutout hole, some wear, minor splitting on the top seam, a piece of tape on the spine, and a bit of pen on the back.)

new Pussy Galore — Right Now ... LP
Shove, 1987. New Copy (reissue).... $15.99 16.98 Out Of Stock
Blistering underground rock from Pussy Galore – one of our favorite noise generators of late 80s! They had pretty much perfected their mess by the time Right Now came out. The group still have that shrapnel guitar sound in full effect, and with all of the barbed ferocity of the meanest MFs in the darkest corners of late 80s indie rock – but unlike your Big Blacks, Scratch Acids and Butthole Surfers, Pussy Galore seems to genuinely love old school rock 'n' roll – even while they stomp it to death! A true anti-classic from the pre-Royal Trux, JBX years, when these fellas still seemed genuinely dangerous. Includes "Pig Sweat", "White Noise", "Uptight", "Biker Rock Loser", "Rope Legend", "Alright", "New Breed", "Knock Up", "Punch Out", "Pussy Stomp", "Trashcan Oil Drum", "Fix It", "Rancid", "Hell Spawn".

new Rogerio Duprat — A Banda Tropicalista Do Duprat ... CD
El (UK), 1968. New Copy .... $13.99 Out Of Stock
An amazing rare chapter of the late 60s Tropicalia saga – from the genius composer responsible for some of the most pivotal arrangements of the era! Rogerio Duprat's talent grew as a cellist with some of the most respected symphony orchestras of Brazil before he went into soundtrack work – eventually meeting Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. He did some arranging for Gilberto, leading to his arrangements on the landmark 1967 Tropicalia album featuring the giants of the era. This rare and incredible album followed in '68 – an adventurous batch of tunes with deep, profound love for sunshine/easy psychedelia! It's as gorgeously arranged as work by Van Dyke Parks, Brian Wilson and just about anyone else from any continent on the planet at the time! Os Mutantes contribute vocals to several tracks – and the set list harmoniously melds tunes popularized by the Beatles, the Cowsills, Jobim, Veloso and Gil – in a way that really follows in the spirit of the Tropicalia anthem "Baby", in the way that it recasts American and English late 60s pop ideals with a strange reconstructed Brazilian twist! Tracks include "Judy In Disguise", "Honey/Summer Rain", "Cancao Para Ingles Ver B Chiquita Bacana", "Canto Chorado/Bom Tempo/Lapinha", "Chega De Saudade", "Baby", "Cinderella Rockefella", "Lady Madonna", and "The Rain The Park & Other Things".
