Various — Super Funk Vol 5 – Super Funk Is Back – Rare & Classic Funk 1968 to 1977 ... LP
BGP (UK), Late 60s/1970s. New Copy 2LP .... $19.99
One of the deepest-digging entries in the Super Funk series so far – a blistering batch of underground singles that serve up some of the roughest funk of their generation! We'll be honest in saying that we'd only heard a few of the tracks here before – and our hats are off to BGP for taking this already-great series and making it go even deeper – far past familiar funk classics that usually get showcased on the label, and much more into the realm of the crate-digging underground, or the ebay-rarity stratosphere! A handful of cuts here are previously unreleased – never even issued on wax back in the day – and the rest are all pretty darn hard to find too, and all plenty darn great from a musical perspective. The package features a whopping 21 tracks in all – including a rare 1970 funky remake of "Twine Time" by Alvin Cash, plus "Home Brew" by Miles Grayson, "Just Sitting" by Smithstonian, "Can't Get Enough" by 87th Off Broadway, "Hi Off Life" by Eternal Flames, "Give Me Another Chance" by The Uniques, "Hold On" by Lorenzo Holden, "Free The Soul Man" by La May & Company, "Little Boy Blue" by The Phillips Brothers, "You'd Be Good For Me" by Jeanette Jones, "Who Done It? Who Drained The Pool?" by Big Daddy Green, "Low Rider (Deuce & A Quarter)" by Smokey Wilson, "Can't Buy Soul" by Hebrew Rogers, "Shake A Leg" by Jackie Wilson, "Face To Face" by The Explosions, and "Turn Around & Go" by Lee Bernard.

new Deltron 3030 — Deltron 3030 (white vinyl) ... LP
75 Ark/Deltron Partners, 2000. New Copy 2LP (reissue).... $16.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Kid Koala, and Dan The Automator pool their skills for this dawn of the 2000s sci-fi hip hop classic – the masterful Deltron 3030! The guest list is almost too long to get into, but Money Mark, Prince Paul, PB Wolf and Mr. Lif are all here, along with many others. One of the benchmark albums in the leftfield underground hip hop canon – and a hugely influential set that burst the doors wide open for the more creative spirits in the hip hop and even experimental pop. Tracks include "State Of The Nation", "3030", "The Fantabulous Rap Extravaganza", "Things You Can Do", "Positive Contact", "St Catherine St.", "Virus", "Mastermind", "National Movie Review", "Time Keeps On Slipping", "Turbulence (remix)", "Battlesong", "Memory Loss" and more.

new Marcos Valle — Previsao Do Tempo (180 gram pressing) ... LP
Odeon/Light In The Attic, 1973. New Copy Gatefold (reissue).... $18.99 Out Of Stock
An insanely wonderful album that will always remain one of the all-time favorites of the Dusty Groove staff! This beautiful batch of tracks by Brazilian singer/songwriter Marcos Valle has him pushing waaaay past his bossa work of the 60s – into a cool 70s mix of electronics and sexy scoring, for a sound that's a mix of Brazilian rhythms with other styles that evoke Italian soundtracks and French pop backing. That description hardly does the record justice, though, because the whole thing's wonderful – and it's got a feeling that's unlike anything else we've ever stocked – every bit as warmly watery as the image of Marcos in a swimming pool on the cover. It's no wonder that the album was one of Valle's last great recordings – because with tracks as good as "Mentira", "Mais Do Que Valsa", "Nao Tem Nada Nao", "Samba Fatal", and "Tiu-Ba-La-Quieba", it's hard to top yourself!
(Heavy gatefold pressing – with notes, lyrics, and a great cover that's even better than the original!)
Also available: Previsao Do Tempo ... CD $13.99

new Hugo Montenegro — Lady In Cement (clear vinyl) ... LP
20th Century/Harkit (UK), 1968. New Copy (reissue).... $18.99 Out Of Stock
One of Hugo Montenegro's greatest soundtracks ever – and one of the grooviest 60s scores we can think of! The album's filled with incredible jazzy tracks – darkly tinged, but bubbling, upbeat, and wonderful – the kind of hard-driving numbers that make a soundtrack like this so great, and which you rarely find in such strong form overall. A few tunes are standards, but even these are handled well – and titles include "Lady In Cement", "Jilly's Joint", "Kit", "The Shark", "Yale's Pool Room", "Ruby's Burlesque", "Again", and "Tony's Theme".
(On clear vinyl.)

Various — Break N' Bossa ... LP
Schema (Italy), 1999. New Copy 2LP .... $16.99
The start of a legend – and a key compilation to document the rich reworkings of Brazilian sounds in the 90s global scene! The collection is the first in the legendary series – and has a wider range than some of the others – as Schema moves past just their own recordings, and incorporates some key sounds from other labels as well – a number of which are now out of print. Given that most numbers here – at least these mixes – were only around on 12" singles, the collection is especially essential – and filled with gems that stand up well – and really set the blueprint for grooves in years to come! Titles include "Atabaque" by Jazzanova, "Servus Mr. Bond" by Les Gammas, "Outboard Jeopardy" by Modaji, "What's Your Number" by Ian Pooley (remixed by Jazzanova), "The Will Of Life" by DJ Matsuoka, and "Galacia" by Rainer Truby Trio.
