Melba MooreMelba (Epic) ... LP
Epic/CBS, 1978. Near Mint- ... $2.99
Melba Moore gets some great help here from the Philly soul duo of McFadden & Whitehead – whose soaring styles proves to be a perfect fit for her amazing voice! Melba had cut some great work before this set, but here things really seem to come together – her amazing range, her ability to be expressive without going over the top, and her maturing role as a soul singer – which would take her to great territory in years to come! There's almost an indie soul vibe to the record at times – never too overtly commercial, and sophisticated but not hitting you over the head either – on titles that include "You Stepped Into My Life", "Happy", "Pick Me Up I'll Dance", "There's No Other Like You", "Together Forever", and "It's Hard Not To Like You". ✨✧ Melba MooreMelba (Buddah) ... LP
Buddah, 1976. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Soaring soul from Melba Moore – a singer who really came into her own with this sweet 70s album! Melba always had a great voice, right from the start – but here, she's working with arrangements and production by Van McCoy – updating her sound with a bit of a clubby groove, in a way that helps Moore reach even greater heights than usual – and cross over to a big audience with ears for the growing disco sounds of the time! McCoy really knows how to pitch things right – and overall, the album's got a much deeper feel than some of his own disco work of the time – thanks, no doubt, to Melba's rich vocal approach. Titles include "So Many Mountains", "Good Love Makes Everything Alright", "The Way You Make Me Feel", "The Greatest Feeling", "Mighty Clouds Of Joy", and "Ain't No Love Lost". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes insert. Cover has a cutout notch and light edge wear.)

✨✧ Melba MooreNever Say Never ... LP
Capitol, 1983. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Melba Moore at the height of her 80s powers – stepping out here with a good bit of help from Kashif, who sings a bit and plays keyboards – along with Paul Lawrence Jones, whose keys also shine brightly on the set! There's a nicely jazzy undercurrent to some of the best numbers – that flowing 80s groove style that's never too overdone, and which does a good job of reigning in some of Melba's too-commercial tendencies – and the quality of the record is a great example of the way that Moore could hold things together, even when reaching for a larger audience. Titles include "Lean On Me", "Lovin Touch", "Never Say Never", "Love Me Right", "Keepin My Lover Satisfied", and "Got To Have Your Love". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has light wear, lightly bent corner, and some pen notations in back.)

✨✧ Melba MooreOther Side Of The Rainbow ... LP
Capitol, 1982. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
An early 80s classic from Melba Moore – best known for one of her biggest hits, "Love's Comin' At Ya", an enduring number that's got an irresistible groove! Like many of Melba's other albums, this one does a wonderful job of delivering radio-friendly pop soul and still hitting us on a deeper soul level – with some great vocal work from Melba! Her voice soars over the period production details that sound fresh once again. LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has minimal wear.)

✨✧ Melba MooreLot Of Love ... LP
Capitol, 1986. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Lots of love from Melba Moore – one of those singers who never seemed to falter at all – graced with a fantastic voice that seems to really soar, no matter what the setting! And although Moore got her start with rootsier soul in the 70s, she's a perfect fit for the more contemporary sounds of the 80s – still every bit as soulful as before, and getting a nice update with the beats and basslines in the backings – heard to great effect on her hit duet with Freddie Jackson on "A Little Bit More", and the classic "Falling" – next to other cuts that include "Love The One I'm With (A Lot Of Love) "There I Go Falling In Love Again", "You Trip Me Out", "Stay", "Don't Go Away", and "I'm Not Gonna Let You Go". ✨✧ Melba MoorePortrait Of Melba ... LP
Buddah, 1978. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
The vocals of Melba Moore, and some great Philly soul rhythms – put together with tight arrangements from McFadden & Whitehead, who give Moore a similar approach to some of the best Philadelphia International records of the time! There's a really nice sense of balance to the record – some mellower moments mixed in with the groovers, and a few stepping midtempo numbers that are especially nice – and which seem to unlock a depth and maturity in Melba's vocals we can really appreciate. Titles include "Living Freee", "You Are My River". "Standing Right Here", "Just Another Link", "Is This The End", "Promised Land" and "I Don't Know No One Else To Turn To". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Melba MooreThis Is It ... LP
Buddah, 1976. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A real stormer from Melba Moore – brilliantly-arranged dancefloor soul with beautiful lead vocals by Melba – on one of her best records of the 70s! Melba is straight-up amazing here, bringing genuine soul to feverish dancefloor gems and otherwise soaring numbers. This Is It was produced and arranged by Van McCoy, who was at the peak of his disco-era popularity at the time. We'd call this work here on Melba's record a creative peak for Van – even though if it didn't break Melba out in a big way commercially at the time. It includes the McCoy-penned should-be classic "This Is It", plus "Free", "Stay A While", a sweet cover of Curtis Mayfield's "Make Me Believe In You", "Lean On Me" (one of the greater showpieces for Melba's incredible voice), "Blood Red Roses", "Brand New" and more. ✨✧ Melba MooreRead My Lips ... LP
Capitol, 1985. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
An early 80s set from Melba Moore – recorded at a time when she was really coming into her own! Read My Lips has Melba working nicely with some tight Capitol soul backings – often a bit heavy on the beats, but in a way that guides the tunes strongly from the bottom, and lets Melba's vocals really shine over the top! The instrumentation is heavy on the keyboards, and also features some polished guitars – and production is by Beau Huggins and the Hush Productions team – on titles that include "The Love Of A Lifetime", "Read My Lips", "I Can't Believe It", "When You Love Me Like This", "King Of My Heart", "Winner", and "Mind Over Matter". VariousDance Masters – John Luongo – The Classic Dance Remixes ... LP
Demon (UK), Late 70s/1980s. New Copy 2LP ... $40.99 42.99
A massive batch of mixes from dancefloor maestro John Luongo – a set that's heavy on cuts from the 80s in many styles, and which has some other surprises in the mix as well! Luongo was one of those talents who did a great job of bringing underground dancefloor modes to a more mainstream audience – and he finds grooves in cuts that might not normally have gotten such strong club treatment on their own, or in the hands of another remix talent! This 2LP set features some of the best work that Luongo did back in the day – titles that include "The Best (ext mighty mix)" by Tina Turner, "Suspicious Minds (suspicious mix)" by Fine Young Cannibals, "The Chinese Way (New York rmx)" by Level 42, "Out In The Night (12" version)" by Serge Ponsar, "Give It Up (12" version)" by KC & The Sunshine Band, "Missing You (ext version)" by John Waite, "Eyes Without A Face (full length version)" by Billy Idol, "Look Of Love (part 3 – dance version)" by ABC, "Fade To Grey (US 12" version)" by Visage, "Blind Vision (ext version)" by Blancmange, "Shy Boy (US ext version)" by Bananarama, "Tarzan Boy (ext dance version)" by Baltimora, "Relight My Fire (historical 1979 rmx)" by Dan Hartman with Loleatta Holloway, "You Stepped Into My Life (John Luongo rmx)" by Melba Moore, and "Music Is My Way Of Life (John Luongo rmx)" by Patti Labelle. 2LP set features 16 tracks – and includes rare photos and an essay on Luongo's music!
