Led Zeppelin's final album of the 70s! The band was conscious as ever of modern studio sounds by the this point – and they find a way to deliver their hard blues-inspired heavy rock with some new wave synth and other late 70s touches. It works pretty well, and with songs as great as "Fool In The Rain" and "All My Love" on the record, they really couldn't go wrong. Other titles include "In The Evening", "South Bound Suarez", "Carouselambra", and "I'm Gonna Crawl".

Hard rock perfected! It's around Led Zeppelin IV you can easily say that the group moved up from being incredibly great to flat-out legendary. On IV, they do a bit of what the did on each of the three preceding albums, but rather than starting to repeat themselves, they get better! Amazing. Every song a classic: "Black Dog", "Stairway To Heaven", "Rock And Roll", "Misty Mountain Hop", "When The Levee Breaks", "Going To California", "Four Sticks" and "Battle Of Evermore".

Led Zeppelin walk back just a bit on their more stylistically sprawling tendencies for this one – and it's a fine set of hard-grooving rock from these uber-legends! We're not sure if they got some of the more ambitious ideas out of their system with Physical Graffiti, or if they just simply wanted to get out there and kick ass this time, but that's indeed what they do. It's still got some longer songs and complicated changes – this is Led Zeppelin, after all – and the lack of over-played classic rock radio fodder actually makes this one a better listen nowadays than the more iconic albums. Includes "Achilles Last Stand", "For Your Life", "Nobody's Fault But Mine", "Candy Store Rock", "Hots On For Nowhere" and "Tea For One".

A really heavy duty book on Led Zeppelin – one that's as big as an oversized volume of photos, but also includes a rich amount of text, too! There's a great array of vintage black and white photos in the book – lots of candid and backstage images we've never seen before – all laid out in support of Keith Shadwick's detailed history of the group's tremendous rise – details that start in 1968, and run through their great run of albums in the 70s. The book's a whopping 320 pages in all, oversized, in a soft cover, and very heavy!

Arguably one of the greatest double-live albums of the classic rock generation – filled with extra long takes of Led Zep classics, most of which diverge very strongly from their studio versions! The real highlight here is the set's classic "Moby Dick", which features one of the greatest drum solos ever set to wax – but other tunes include "Rain Song", "Whole Lotta Love", "Stairway To Heaven", "No Quarter", and "Dazed & Confused".

The swaggering, hard grooving and hard rocking debut of Aerosmith! While "Dream On" gets as much or more rock radio play than any song should ever need, it's actually pretty easy to overlook just how good the rest of the record is. They may borrow the bluesy swagger of the Stones and heavy riffing of Led Zeppelin, but it's ultimately a heavy, but accessible rock sound that's distinctively all their own. Mad heavy funk from this excellent Japanese combo – really hitting hard here on a host of covers of famous tunes – all returned to the group's sharp 70s instrumental approach! The groove is incredible – razor-sharp right from the start, and served up with perfect old school instrumentation – and just the right production to match – perfect for the tight horns in the lead, riffing guitar in the rhythms, and the warm organ that sews the whole thing together! And although we love their own songs, this set seems to sound extra-hip, given that it features work by Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Herbie Hancock, Led Zeppelin, and others – a wicked array of re-tooled tunes that includes "Tell Me A Bedtime Story", "Too High", "Mean Street", "Power Of Soul", "Exodus", "Space Dust", "The Immigrant Song", "Blackbyrd's Theme", and "KITT".
