Kenny Dope takes on the funkiest sounds of the Miami Soul generation – on a single that's got more heavy funk than most full albums! Side one features a great edit of Beginning Of The End's "Come On Baby" (aka "Come Down Baby") – a groove that's just as heavy as their famous "Funky Nassau", and done with a similar blend of choppy guitar, romping rhythms, and blasting horns! Next up is Willie Johnson's amazing "Lay It On Me" – a tune that's got a really amazing bassline – one that moves faster than anything in the tune – including the blasting horns and rip-shot drums! And last is "Till I Get My Share" – one of the funkiest tunes ever from Clarence Reid – a hard and heavy number that feels a lot like the best Syl Johnson work for Twinight!

A killer Kenny Dope take on this lost club classic! "I Want To Be Loved By You" is a perfect blend of soul, club, and funk – a track that shows that the underground club vibe of the late 70s wasn't always restricted to the east coast scene of P&P and other labels! The track's got a bubbling bassy groove, spacey keyboards in the mix, and some full-on righteous vocals that are totally great – and on this version, Kenny seems to kick up the drums a bit more, bring a bit more hardness to the bass, and really spin the whole thing out with even more cosmic energy than before! There's loads of great keyboards too – a sweet little solo in the middle – and lots of heavy bass on the bass mix too.

A sweet disco cut from Maynard Parker – a cut that really takes on a whole new life here in Kenny Dope's mix! The track starts with some stark, pounding beats – almost pre-house in construction, and peppered with piano riffs and cowbell bits before giving way to some breathy, sexy vocals! Nice and warm, and plenty darn soulful – and an album's worth of masterpiece packed inside the space of a single!

A deeply effective set from Bonobo! North Borders has beats that are as compelling as any in Bonobo's canon – often thumping pretty hard – paired with gorgeous electronic sound washes and really deft use of vocal samples and guest singers. The mix of compelling beats and lighter, more ethereal atmosphere is a nice touch – and the use of voices, whether sampled or sung by a guest, really brings in an uncommon emotional depth.
