A nice one from producer, songwriter, remixer and pop soul force of nature Jellybean – his first album for Chrysalis! It's actually not as out there and spacey as you'd expect from the title – but there really was no one quite like Jellybean in this planet in the 80s. Former Contortionists singer Adele Bertei sings on half of the record – and it's a pretty sweet and unique mix of pop, soul and dance! Includes "Little Too Good To Me", "Who Found Who", "Just A Mirage", "The Real Thing", "Walking In My Sleep", "Hypnotized By (Your Touch)", "Jingo" and "Am I Dreaming". This Cherry Pop CD edition has 5 bonus tracks – 7" and 12" mixes including "Who Found Who (US Club Mix)", "Just A Mirage (12" Remix), a dance mix of the earlier crossover smash "Sidewalk Talk".

Many years after his huge club hit "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me?", but still a nice club groover, with more of an 80s jazzy feel and some nice production assistance from Jellybean Benitez.

The upbeat tracks here sometimes get a bit dramatic, which makes us like the ballads more – sweeter-styled numbers that are much better suited to Jermaine's singing approach – but even those upbeat numbers show the Jackson family ear for crossover soul! Titles include "Give A Little Love", "Precious Moments", "Our Love Story", "I Think It's Love", "Voices In The Dark", "Words Into Action", and "Do You Remember Me". Not strictly hip hop, but a breakin/electro/dance classic! With that early 80's club sound and sung vocals, produced by Arthur Baker and Jellybean. The 10-minute Rockin On Sunshine mix is a mostly instrumental version, with much more spare production, where each drum/bass/snyth line is allowed to go on for a minute without all the other orchestration.

The movie maybe a goofy, if undeniably amusing pop culture relic, but the Polydor soundtrack is a genuine win! This is an album that doubtlessly brought breakdance and old school hip hop culture into the eyes of middle America – but what helps it stand the test of time are some solid non-hip hop cuts like "Ain't Nobody" by Rufus & Chaka Khan, "Freakshow On The Dance Floor" by The Bar-Kays, the smooth club hit "99 1/2" by Carol Lynn Townes, "Body Work" by Hot Streak and produced by Jellybean.
