HifiversAwesome Cleavage (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch
Hi Five (Germany), 2011. New Copy .... $4.99
Awesome cleavage, and a pretty nice groove too – a bouncy sort of funk number with lots of the trademark tight horns we've come to expect from the Hifivers – plus these female vocals that get kind of playful in a unique way!

HifiversHifivers Play Raw Soul ... CD
Hi Five (Germany), 2010. New Copy .... $5.99
Lots of raw soul here, and plenty of deep funk too – but tied together in a vibe that almost goes deeper than usual for a European combo of this nature, thanks to some great imagination on the horn parts! The set begins with the excellent "Watusi", which almost has a spiritual jazz vibe – then rolls into some numbers with a tighter funk approach, and some occasional female vocals too – used in ways that are often very respectful of the instrumentation, and definitely lets it set the tone first. Titles include "Thru To You", "Watusi", "Don't Step", "Got Myself Some Bucks", and "What You Lookin At".
(Cover says "promotional copy" – but these are copies sold to us by the band – the closest to a physical release of this digital album.)

HifiversLife Shines EP ... CD
Hi Five (Germany), 2011. New Copy .... $5.99
A great German combo, and one with almost as much jazz as funk in the mix – quite a nice change from the usual group of this nature! There's a warm glow to the record right from the start – a vibe that comes from the tight trumpet lines of Michael Voss, who also sings a bit – and even more so from the vocals of Koko Kay, who sings on some of the best tracks – and gives things a slow-burning sound that's mighty nice. The style's kind of a blend of deep funk with jazzier overtones – and titles include "Life Shines", "Hifivin Time", "Awesome Change", "It Ain't That Bad", "The Heritage", and "Global Tribe".

HifiversGot Myself Some Bucks/What You Lookin' At? (with bonus download) ... 7-inch
Hi Five (Germany), 2011. New Copy .... $4.99 Just Sold Out!
Tight funky soul from the Hi Fivers – a German group with previous ties to the Poets Of Rhythm universe – stepping out here in a more classic-styled tune with "Got Myself" – a cut with some female vocals in the lead, and some mighty nice horn parts too! "What You Lookin At" follows with more great horns and vocals – and this jaunty rhythm that's a nice break from the usual!
(Limited numbered edition of 500 copies – also comes with a bonus download card for the Play Raw Soul album.)
