Two soundtrack-themed albums – back to back on one CD! Themes For Super Heroes is a 1979 effort from
Geoff Love – one timed to match up with the successful Superman film, but which also features bits from a range of TV heroes as well!
Love's arrangements are lush, but often quite lean – done with some warm 70s glow at points, but never that sleepy, and with an ear for the right sort of dynamic bigger band arrangements to keep things interesting, when needed! Titles include "Blakes 7", "Spiderman", "The Bionic Woman", "The Six Million Dollar Man", "The Incredible Hulk", "Can You Read My Mind", and "Dick Barton Special Agent". Big Terror has a striking picture of Jaws on the cover – and follows up with its main theme, as well as key themes from a host of other 70s horror and disaster movies!
Geoff Love changes things up in just the right way – almost making the album feel like a fresh batch of easy instrumentals instead of recaps of the exact soundtracks – on titles that include "Three Days Of The Condor", "The Exorcist", "The Eiger Sanction", "Jaws", "The Executioner", and "Death Wish".
