J Dilla — Lost Scrolls Vol 1 (10" single) ... 12-inch
Delicious Vinyl/Ruff Draft, 2013. New Copy (pic cover).... $12.99 14.98
The first in the Lost Scrolls series of unreleased J Dilla recordings – and a pretty strong representation of Dilla's strength son a few different levels – with a couple cuts featuring Dilla on the mic , a prime level (almost) instrumental, plus a nice one with rhymes by his brother Illa J with friend and favorite Detroit player Frank Nitt! Yancey family friend Nitt put the project together, and he's off to a good start here. So few are the posthumous releases of music by departed heroes and heroines that are worthy of their legacies, that it's all the more gratifying! This is a promising first look at the Lost Scrolls! Includes "Dewitt To Do It" and "Smack A B**ch" both with rhymes by Dilla, "The Throwaway" by The Yancey Boys (J Dilla & Illa J) featuring Frank Nitt joining Illa J on the rhymes, plus the Dilla instrumental "Ruff And Rugged".

Quando Quango — Atom Rock (New York rmx, dub mix) ... 12-inch
Factory, 1984. Very Good .... $5.99
Latinized crossover club from the enigmatic Quando Quango – one of our favorite groups from the Factory Records import years! "Atom Rock" is a catchy New York styled number, remixed here by Mark Kamins with the trebley guitar, conga and electro bits all ducking in and out of the bass heavy mix ina nice dubby fashion!

Big Beat, 1994. Used .... $7.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
Classic beats and lyrics from one of our favorite mid-90's groups that never quite made it commercially. The Buckwild remix features some dope verses from Busta Rhymes in his pre-"Put your hands..." days.

new Fingers Inc — Love Of My Own (ext club mix, inst, acapella/beat mix) ... 12-inch
Alleviated, 1987. Used .... $19.99 Out Of Stock
Was there ever a greater house team than Larry Heard and Robert Owens? Owens soulful vocals over a very driving track from Heard that still has his signature jazzy warmth makes this single one of our favorite hard to get first generation Chicago house tracks!
(Yellow label pressing.)

new Jamiroquai — Stillness In Time (vinyl version)/Space Cowboy (classic radio, classic club) ... 12-inch
Sony (UK), 1994. Used (pic cover).... $2.99 Out Of Stock
Our 2 favorite tracks off our favorite LP by JK & crew, with fat, jazzy bass, and uptempo grooves filled out by nice keys. Dave Morales makes great us of the scatted vocal tracks on the remix, for a nice club version with an uplifting vibe that's just a shade under uptempo.
(Cover has light edge wear, a small sticker, and some sticker residue.)

new James Mason — Night Gruv (main, unreleased longer edit)/I Want Your Love ... 12-inch
Rush Hour (Netherlands), 1984. New Copy (reissue).... $12.99 Out Of Stock
A killer bit of jazz funk from the great James Mason! The cut's an old one – but has never been properly issued before, save for a brief appearance on a 12" single in 1996. "I Want Your Love" is our favorite here – over 11 minutes long, and it begins with this cool building moog/drum part that reminds us a lot of the excellent work on tracks like "Sweet Power" and "Free". The cut's got some female vocals that come into the mix about 1/3 of the way through – and they really help the track build its vibe as it goes along! Single also features "Night Gruv", which has a lot more modern sound, with jazzy keyboards over a pounding midtempo groove, a spacey insistent groove that has the feel of some of the best jazzy Detroit electronic sounds.

new Midnight Star — Freak-A-Zoid/Move Me ... 12-inch
Solar, 1983. Used .... $5.99 Out Of Stock
Get ready to pop and break – because this one's a monster! "Freak-A-Zoid" was one of our favorite tracks back when we owned a pair of parachute pants and a 10 foot square of linoleum – and it's a darn good thing you're not at our offices to watch us spinning on our shoulders to the track now! It's backed here by the great "Move Me", a nice jazzy stepper that shows a totally different side of Midnight Star!
(Labels have a number of small ink stamps.)
