New OrderBlue Monday/The Beach ... 12-inch
Factory, 1983. Very Good+ (pic cover)... $6.99
A dark classic that broke out of the underground and forever transformed the world of dance music! "Blue Monday" has this infectious bass/keyboard riff that you'll recognize immediately – and which you've heard emulated a million times in electro house tracks from later on in the 80s. "The Beach" is more of the same – kind of a dub version of the hit. 12-inch, Vinyl record
(US pressing in the diskette cover, with silver inner sleeve.)

New A Certain RatioDo The Du/The Fox/Shack Up/Son & Heir ... 12-inch
Factory, 1980. Used (pic cover)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Easily 4 of the best tracks ever recorded by A Certain Ratio – and 4 tunes that really sum up the genius of their early years! "Shack Up" is a monster bit of punky funk – a cover of the original 70s groove by Banbarra, done here with really scratchy guitars. "Son & Heir" is really dark and sad, totally Joy Division-ish Factory sounding – but then "The Fox" and "Do The Du" are very lively and very percussive numbers that take that darkness and turn it into a massive groove! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Factory US pressing. Cover has some light wear.)

New A Certain RatioLife's A Scream/There's Only This ... 12-inch
Factory (UK), Early 80s. Used (pic cover)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
ACR's tightening things up a bit by this point, but still sounding quite nice! "Life's A Scream" is actually a pretty catchy dancefloor number – not as scratchy/punky as earlier work, and with a clean and fluid groove that's quite soulful, yet still has the darker touches of earlier work. "There's Only This" is moodier and more atmospheric, with nice guitar bits and piano lines that ring out amidst the dark vocals. 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Cover has some wear.)
