Dr DooomDr Dooom 2 ... CD
Threshold, 2008. Used ... $4.99
The battle ready return of Dr Dooom – we were skeptical, but guess what, it's pretty good – with ominously funky boom bap beats by Kutmasta Kurt – and obscenity spewing, pop culture slaying rhymes by Kool Keith. Titles include "Simon", "The Countdown", "RIP Dr Octagon", "I Followed You", "Run For Your Life" feat Fathed, "The God Of Rap", "That Girl Is A Monster", "Do Not Disturb", "Take That Ride", "Mopped Up", "Always Talkin Out Your A**", "Surgery" feat Motion Man and more. New Dr DooomFirst Come First Served ... CD
Funky Ass, 1999. Used ... $2.99
In the universe of Kool Keith projects, this one is maybe closest to the Sex Style LP lyrically – but the production is better than both Sex Style and Dr Octagon. We're guessing the reason is that Kool Keith had more to do with the production on this one. There's more variety in the beats, and they usually match the theme of the lyrics. The lyrics have the same bizarre Kool Keith-ness, but this time the humor is more targeted, and more mean. In addition to his beefs with the industry, other MC's, and the medical profession, this time bad housekeeping is high on his list of targets(?!) Produced by the Diesel Truckers (Kool Keith and KutMasta Kurt), with a nice picture cover by Pen & Pixel Graphics. 16 full-length tracks plus several skits. Tracks include "Call The Cops", "Brothers Feel Fly", "Body Bag", "Mental Case", "Leave Me Alone", "Welfare Love", "Dr Doom's In The Room", "Apartment 223", "Neighbors Next Door", and "I Run Rap". CD
