Some of the deepest grooves we've ever heard from Mop Mop – still in the cool, jazzy mode of previous records – but a lot more organic too, with great percussion that really helps shape the sound of the set! As before, there's some excellent work on vibes and keyboards – but many of the rhythms also have a tribal vibe that seems reflected in the album's cover image – a groove that's made even better by live instrumentation that includes trombone from Fred Wesley, and some well-chosen vocal moments that include guest work from Anthony Joseph on three tracks. Titles include "Kamakumba", "Heritage", "Phantom Of The Panther", "Run Around", "The Golden Bamboo", "Damballah", "Mojomamy", and "Afro Jojo (parts 1 & 2)".
