Funky psychedelic hip hop from Willie Isz – aka cosmic hip hop beatmaker and Khujo Goodie of the legendary Goodie Mob – a set that manages to be both hazy and tripped out, but pretty hard hitting, too! It was hard to get around a Stankonia-or-later Outkast or Gnarls Barkley comparison when we first heard about the project, which didn't take away from our excitement about it, but this record project is an inspiration all it's own. Khujo's fast rap and funky strangeness isn't too far out of character from earlier records, but he gets some heretofore unexplored psyche funk vocal styles going, too. Jneiro Jarel's beats range bring gritty synth funk to stuttering beats, laced with fuzzed out elements, plus some leaner, electro thumping sounds. Deep, deep, turntable wizardry from one of the most respect cats on the wheels these days – D-Styles of the Invisibl Skratch Picklz! The records 5 years in the making – and features collaborations with like minded travelers Q-Bert, Melo-D, Babu and others. It's one for the purists, too – made with only wax, a mixer, two turntables, and a Roland RE-201 Space Echo. We'll have to stew on it a while, but our first reaction was stunned bliss – this could end up a classic. Hard, supremely funky and catchy, but with enough crazed outer space synth psychedelia to freak Devo out!
