Ricardo SilveiraStoryteller ... CD
Adventure Music, 2012. New Copy .... $12.99 15.99
Sweet guitar and smooth grooves – a remastered version of this mellow jam from Ricardo Silveira from the mid 90s – brought out with rich new fidelity here in an Adventure Music pressing! There seems to be less of the slickness of the previous issue, and a lot more warmth – that love of acoustic sounds that the label's used often with Silveira – and which really helps rework the flavor of this older session. Ricardo's acoustic and electric guitar lines sparkle alongside accompaniment from Just Almario on saxes, Mitchel Forman on keyboards, Jeff Beal on flugelhorn, and Luis Conte on percussion. Titles include "Francesca", "Fountains", "That Day In Tahiti", "Upon A Time", "Storyteller", and "The Puzzle".

new Mario Adnet — From The Heart ... CD
Adventure Music, 2006. Used .... $5.99
Beautiful Brazilian jazz from guitarist Mario Adnet – an artist with a sound that recalls some of our favorite work from the great indie fusion explosion in Brazil during the 80s! Mario plays acoustic guitar in a lightly dancing way that's initiated by bossa, but has stronger ties to the more complicated fusion modes of the post-Hermeto Pascoal years – never too over the top, but with a sense of sophistication and rich colors that make the album incredibly captivating, even in the mellower moments! As in some of Hermeto's most fluid work, there's a blend of soaring rhythms and more angular instrumentation going on here – and Mario's guitar is joined by flutes by Teco Cardoso, electric guitar by Ricardo Silveira, piano by Marcos Nimrichter, trombones by Vittor Santos, and trumpet by Jesse Sadoc – all working in shifting lineups from track to track. Joao Donato plays piano on one title, and a few others feature lightly jazzy vocals – and tracks include "From The Heart", "Ocean Range", "Paulistiana No 1", "Danca Negra", "Northern Landscape", "Music Inside", "Baiambe", and "Salsatlantic".

new Various — Adventure Music – 10 Years – Compiled By Monday Michiru (3CD set) ... CD
Adventure Music, 2000s/Early 2010s. New Copy 3CD .... $16.99 19.99
A loving look at the Adventure Music label – served up in a 3CD set that offers a heck of a lot of great music for a very low price, all hand-picked by the lovely Monday Michiru! Adventure's been one of the best sources for Brazilian music and acoustic sounds for the past decade – a label with a really strong dedication to a few sorts of styles – like some of the best mixes of jazz, bossa, and choro modes recorded in Brazil – or the wonderful post-folk acoustic underground that's risen up in the US. The package really spans the full scope of the label's music – and offers up a whopping 44 tracks in all – all to introduce you to their efforts. Our hat's off to Monday for the track selection – and the package features work by Hamilton De Holanda, Ricardo Silveira, Daniel Santiago, Muiza Adnet, Mike Marshall, Jovino Santos Neto, Moacir Santos, Antonio Arnedo, Maria Marquez, Clarice Assad, Tom Lellis, Eva Scow, Gui Mallon, Toninho Horta, Florencia Ruiz, Alex Hargreaves, Philippe Baden Powell, and others!
