new Various — Django Unchained (180 gram blood spattered vinyl) ... LP
Universal Republic, 2012. New Copy 2LP Gatefold .... $33.99 45.98 Out Of Stock
Life! Liberty! Vengeance! A wild and very cool soundtrack for Tarantino's dual Blacksploitation/Spaghetti Western homage Django Unchained – featuring bits from some of our favorite Italian western composers mixed up with classic and contemporary funky soul and hip hop! It's the kind of soundtrack that could only happen for Quentin Tarantino – with rare and hard-to-find compositions by Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone, Riz Ortolani and Jerry Goldsmith on one hand – along with a few seemingly antithetical new compositions on the other – including a track penned by star Jamie Foxx for Rick Ross, a James Brown "Payback" remix with a vocal from the 2Pac archive, plus ones by Anthony Hamilton, John Legend and others! Last but not least, it's got some great bits of film dialogue by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Titles include "Django" by Luis Bacalov, "The Braying Mule" by Ennio Morricone, "Nicaragua" by Jerry Goldsmith with Pat Metheny, "Unchained (The Payback/Untouchable)" by James Brown with 2Pac, "Who Did That To You?" by John Legend, "100 Black Coffins" by Rick Ross, "Trinity (Titoli)" by Annibale E I Cantori Moderni and more.
(2 X 180 gram blood spatter colored vinyl.)

new Sven Libaek — Inner Space – Original Soundtrack (deluxe 180 gram collector's edition) ... LP
Festival/Votary (Australia), 1973. New Copy Gatefold (reissue).... $24.99 Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of our favorite records of all time – an incredible soundtrack from the legendary Sven Libaek, served up in a swirling blend of vibes, flute, guitar, and organ – all with a bubbly, watery feel that's totally amazing! The album's easily one of the greatest from the Australian scene of the 70s – originally penned for a film of underwater adventure, but a treasure trove of groove that easily stands next to any of the best American or Italian soundtracks of the time. Libaek's approach is really unique – almost soft on the attack, which creates a really strong flow in the music – always warm, always rhythmic, and plenty darn groovy – thanks to the incredible instrumentation on the set! Players include Don Burrows and Errol Buddle on flutes, Col Nolan on organ, John Sangster on vibes, George Golla on guitar, and Sven himself on piano – and titles include "Inner Space", "Music For Eels", "Sounds Of The Deep", "Nocturnal Lullaby", "Danger Reef", "Seasnakes", "Midget Monsters", "Beche De Mer", "Attacking Sharks", "Inner Space", and "Turtlemusic". LP features a whopping 16 tracks in all newly remastered from the original master tapes!

new John Carpenter — Escape From New York (orange vinyl with poster – and bonus tracks) ... LP
Varese/Death Waltz (UK), 1981. New Copy .... $22.99 Out Of Stock
A seminal soundtrack from the legendary John Carpenter – one of those key records that showed the world that he was as great of a composer as he was a director! The album's a Carpenter-esque masterpiece – lots of cool, spare electronics – used in ways that make the whole movie a whole lot scarier than even the images on the screen – a quality you'll definitely appreciate here as you listen to the album on its own! Some of the best sounds are the most subtle – spare use of basslines and keyboards that almost make you feel as if Moebius and Rodelius have gone over to the dark side – and these are mixed with just a few more "action" based moments. Titles include "Up The Wall/Air Force 1", "Everyone's Coming To New York", "The Duke Arrives/The Barricade", "Back To The Pod/The Crazies Come Out", "Police State/Romero & The President", and "Chase Across The 69th Street Bridge". Also features a few previously unreleased bonus tracks too!
(On orange vinyl and includes a poster of the cover art.)
