Stu Phillips/Carrie Nations/Strawberry Alarm Clock — Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls (clear vinyl pressing) ... LP
20th Century/Harkit (UK), 1970. New Copy Gatefold (reissue).... $18.99
"It's not a sequel – there's never been anything like it." Finally, an awesome reissue of the classically groovy camp soundtrack to "king of the nudies" Russ Meyer's crazy non-sequel to Valley Of The Dolls – one of the greatest exploitation movies of all time! The music is almost unbelievably great for what was essentially supposed to be an X-rated cheapie (little did 20th Century Fox know) – with a wonderfully huge & string heavy score by composer Stu Phillips, insanely groovy, stomping mod rock from the Sandpipers, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and the film's busty real-life Playboy Bunny heroines the Carrie Nations/Kelly Affair! "This is MY happening, and IT FREAKS ME OUT!" Titles include the Carrie Nations tunes "Find It" and "Come With The Gentle People", the Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense & Peppermints" and "I'm Coming Home", the Sandpipers groovy "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls Theme", and tons more.

Philippe Sarde — Le Cinema De Bertrand Tavernier ... CD
Universal (France), 1970s/1980s/Early 90s. New Copy .... $5.99 14.98
A selection of work from soundtracks that Philippe Sarde wrote for 7 different films directed by Bernard Tavernier – L'Horloger De Saint-Paul, Le Juge Et L'Assassin, Des Enfants Gates, Coup De Torchon, Un Dimanche A La Campagne, L 627, and La File De D'Artagnan. The material was recorded over a period of 20 years, but is linked together well through the sentimentality of Sarde's writing and Tavernier's stories. 20 tracks in all – including "Ce Soir On Fete Munich", "Bal De Nuit", "Paris Jardis Par Jean Rochefort et Jean Pierre Marielle", "La Visite", "Les Oubilettes", and "Je Suis Mort Il Y A Si Longtemps".

new Jerry Goldsmith — Papillon ... LP
Capitol, 1973. Used .... $2.99 Out Of Stock
A dramatic score by Jerry Goldsmith – written for the film Papillon, a dark prison film that starred Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffmann. The manner of the work is similar to other Goldsmith scores of this nature – with many tense horn and string passages that underlie the mood of the film. (Cover has a cutout hole, some tape and peeling on the spine, and a bit of pen on back.)

new Armando Trovajoli — Il Profeta/La Matriarca ... CD
GDM/Cinedelic (Italy), 1968. New Copy .... $19.99 Out Of Stock
2 of the grooviest soundtracks ever recorded by this Italian genius! For the score to the mod 60s film Il Profeta, Trovajoli adds in some great elements like twanging guitars, trippy sitar, and hammond organ – all of which groove along in kind of a "go go" mode on the set's best numbers, laying out a vision of swinging Italy that really makes us wish we were there! Titles include "Il Profeta", "Abbiamo Capito", and "Topo Di Campagna", all done in a number of versions, making for a total of 16 cuts in all! La Matriarca is even better – built around one lovely little melody, similar to Francis Lai's legendary A Man & A Woman soundtrack! The tune is totally compelling, and is played in a variety of speeds and settings – on organ, electric harpsichord, and piano – all with jaunty little rhythms, and a slightly bossa, slightly Frenchy sound to it. Really wonderful, and the kind of ditty you'll be humming for weeks after you listen to it! There's 9 tracks in all – including "Bossa Nova Remix", "Piano Solo", "Slow Take", "Main Titles", and "Dream Version". 25 cuts in all – with both soundtracks on the CD!

new Patrick John Scott — Long Duel ... LP
Atco, 1967. Used .... $0.99 Out Of Stock
Dramatic, orchestral, dramatic-orchestral, and dramatic-exotic tunes – all scorred for this Indian-themed adventure film that starred Yul Brynner and Trevor Howard. There's a bit of sitar on a few tracks, mixed in with the orchestrations, and titles include "The Leopard", "Jail Break", "The Wrecked Bhanta Camp", "Strutting At Gynkhana", "Fire At The Fort", "Freddy & Jane", "The Train", and "Hanging Bridge Incident". Also includes a slight vocal performance on "The World Is Ready", by Vince Hill.
(Vinyl has plays with some clicks, and has a small crayon marking that plays with some noise on track five of Side 2. Cover has a spot of tape with a rip on the spine, a bit of pen, and WGN Library letters on the back.)
