Dick Gregory never made it to the White House, but the album's title is definitely an indication of his strongly political views during the Civil Rights era – ideas that got him exposure way beyond black comedians of just a few years before, winning over plenty of folks with his natural wit and no-nonsense approach to the issues! The album's a pretty uncut live performance, and offers a great example of the natural charm that
Gregory had before enthusiastic audiences in the early days – a perfect balance between his dual roles as an entertainer and a motivating political force.
(Cover has some splitting on the top seam and a bit of light wear.)
