Hexenring -- A Live Radio Play
CD (Item 502739) AECO, 1994 -- Condition: New Copy
Forget the weird cover image -- because the CD sounds a lot better than it looks! The album features a very unusual performance from Hartmut Geerken and Famoudou Don Moye -- kind of a live, improvised jam, originally broadcast in Germany during the mid 90s! The set's billed as a "radio play" -- but it's hardly a dramatic effort, and instead it's more of a sound collage, of sorts -- with Geerken really blasting away on piano, and playing some gentler prepared piano, and layering in some sampled sound bits -- while Moye plays Sun Percussion and other percussive instruments too! There's a bit of vocalizing from both artists, but not in the creepy way you might guess from the cover -- and overall, the quality level of the set really deserves a much more arty looking image to match its depth. © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | ||||||
